1. What is your impression of the graffiti scene in the Valley? The scene in the valley in my opinion its not really where it should be, at least i think, cause to the true heads that know what im talking about know that the valleys got some history in graffiti. But like anything else in south texas its way behind, just like the states fall second to the uk. Ive seen people come and go. But for the most part its slowly progressing.

2. What do you think graffiti is? As in, is a political statement, a freedom of expression, your works of art? For damn sure it aint no hobby. Its more of a life style, you got to live, eat, and breath this shit. Even from the way you speak, to the way you carry yourself. But it could be what you make from political to art. to freedom of speech.

3. Do you encourage it? Do you encourage it? what a silly question (lol). Like i said its culture, im not trying to bring this life style to anyone else, you dont choose to be a graffiti artist, its something that just happens. But for the most part im not worried about what anyone else is doing im here for me.

4. What type of graffiti do you make? Do you have a signature style? i really wouldnt say signature style, but i try not to do the same thing twice. Im pretty sure theres some people out there that would say i have no style but whatever. i do this shit for me and not any one else.

5. Why do graffiti? Its like being a reporter you want to make a name for yourself. I mean everybody wants to be known. Its funny working with some people and they start talking real negative about graffiti not knowing that, thats what i do.

6. What do you get out of it?Satisfaction, the rush, the mission you go thru to reach your destination. Its like a drug addict looking to get a fix.

7. Do you feel bad about the property you do the graffiti on? not at all, because most of the illegal work i do is done on abandoned buildings, or spots that already have existing graffiti on it. im not the instigator, im not going to go tag the bank, or post office, or someones fence. theres some shit you just dont write on.

8. Do you see graffiti as art? What do you see it as? Definetly i see it as an art form. Anything that takes skills is an art form.

9. How do you feel about law enforcement arresting people just for doing graffiti? Like i said theres some shit you just dont tag on. If the post office gets tagged on its going to stir up some people, and on top of that its government property, and you know how the government likes to fuck people

10. Do you see graffiti as a crime? Crime is such a harsh way to put it, I mean, murders a crime, rapes a crime. Graffiti a crime? Its definitely against the law..

11. Do you think people who do graffiti are stereotyped, misunderstood or made out to be bad people by the media and law enforcement? Of course, people are always so quick to judge a person on his or hers appearance. All the way from the way you dress , tattoos, some times even by your skin color. But theres nothing you can do, theres always going to be people that are against what you do.

12. Will you continue to do graffiti? And Why? Of course, thats my way of life, its my religion. Ill be doing this till im sixty. Some people make music, some sculpt, I paint.

13. Tell me about your legal work? I mean After a few years doing it, just recently in the summer of 06 I got commissioned to paint a telemarketing call center for boost mobile. Its was a cool experience, to get paid for what for years I was doing for free, and also to build up my portfolio. I mean I dont want to get rich of off this, I just dont want to go hungry. You can check out those pictures of the call center on Cutthroatmuralz.com.

14. If you can do it legally, why do it illegally? Cause thats where graffiti started, on the streets. When I paint something on the streets, I dont do it for anyone else, its for my personal satisfaction.

15. How long have you been doing your work? When I started I was like 16, 17 years old, but it started with a bunch of simple tags, and slowly developed to what im doing know, im 23 going on 24.

16. Can you tell me how you learned and started, and why you started. I didnt get up one day and decided I wanted to be a graffiti artist, It just happened. Shit I couldve been designing houses, I know a little bit of AutoCAD, but when I got into college I decided to graphic design instead.

17. Have you been caught? Gotten into any trouble? I got when I was like 17, and since I was a minor they released me to my parents, shit my dad was pissed. But other than that, I remember in 2003 a buddy of mine and I were bombing some spot and we got chased, we ran through tall grass and had to hide lying down on our backs next to some cement pipe for nearly an hour and a half, it was a crazy trip.

18. What inspires you? What inspires me is music, I love music, I listen to a bunch of hip hop like Atmosphere,Glue,The Roots,Thievery corporation and my friends inspire me as well, its the life style we live.

19. What do you see as the future of graffiti in the Valley?Probably the same way it is now I went to go paint in Kansas City,Missouri in Nov. of last year and the scene over there was incredible hopefully thats in store for the valleys future.

20. Anything you would like to add on your own behalf?Yeah, shout outs to VF crew (demo, mike nice, d.j dabble) my KC fam NFO crew, and my buddy Rene Garza. To check out my latest work on canvas check out the Harlingen museum across from TSTC Feb. 9th from 6-9pm. Peace.1/29/06
